Geographic location

          

The village of Vama is located on a main access route (E85) about 50 Km from Suceava and 15 Km from Campulung Moldovenesc. It is conveniently placed for visits to the most important historical monasteries, true pearls of Moldavian Middle Ages architecture and Christian civilisation: Moldovita, Voronet (the Sixtine Chapel of the east), Humor, Sucevita and Putna. Many of these were commissioned by Stefan cel Mare, known as the defender of Christianity.

The area also boasts several other attractions worth seing: the Cacica salt mines, the black pottery works of Marginea, and the Agapia, Varatec, Neamt and Dragomirna monasteries.
